P2 Ros Hastings, Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals, is the Scheme Organiser of the UKNEQAS for Clinical Cytogenetics and the Cytogenetics European Quality Assessment (CEQA) EQA schemes based at Oxford. Both EQA schemes covers constitutional and acquired cytogenetics with EQA participants predominantly from Europe but also Asia, South America, North America and Australasia. Ros has past experience in research and diagnostic cytogenetics. She has been both Deputy Director and Head of Prenatal Sections in several laboratories within the UK. She is Chair of the ESHG Diagnostic Service Quality Committee whose main aim is to improve the quality and provision of Genetic services in Europe for the benefit of patients. She co-ordinates the ESHG Workshop on Diagnostic Cytogenetics held annually at the ESHG conference. In addition, she is one of the co-ordinators for the ECA Permanent Working Group on Cytogenetics and Society, and was co-author of the European Cytogenetic Guidelines. |
