Open Forum on the future of Networks of Excellence

Purpose of the open forum meeting

• Continue the debate on the role and future of Networks of Excellence in the EU RTD policy
• Share experience on best practice, particularly on how to achieve sustainability of NoEs

This is a free event, open to all participants who register beforehand. The meeting is organised by a group of 6 NoEs. The number of partcipants is limited.

Who should participate:

• Managers of scientific teams and of research projects, especially NoEs
• RTD centres; universities, Industry
• Policy makers

Programme and speakers

The morning programme concentrates on exchange of best practice, with some 8 cases presented by managers or coordinators of NoEs.

The afternoon session is a panel discussion chaired by Prof. Jerzy Buzek, MEP, who will also draw the conclusions. Prof. Ramon Marimon has accepted to be a panel member.

Other panelists will come from the different stakeholders groups. A presentation on the opinion paper and the Commission's reaction to the opinion paper will be the start of the panel discussion.
