P14 Bruno Dallapiccola, M.D, is full professor in Medical Genetics at the University of Rome La Sapienza School of Medicine, and Director of the Mendel Institute in Rome and Scientific Director of the Hospital Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza. He is a counselor for the Ministry of Health on the monitoring of the clinical activities regarding rare disorders. He is also a component of the National Committees for Bioetics and for Biotechnology. He works as an expert for the Italian National Institute of Health. He has been appointed as President of the Italian Society for Medical Cytogenetics, the Italian Society of Medical Genetics, the Italian Federation for Hereditary disorders, and has been President of the Italian Society for Human Genetics. His research interests have been variously focused on the genetic origin of rare disorders, in particular on medical genetics, clinical cytogenetics and gene cloning. He is author and co-author in more than 488 manuscripts in international journals. Recipient of 14 Scientific Awards.
