P25 Beverly Searle is CEO of Unique, the Rare Chromosome Disorder Support group. Unique has developed and maintains a computerized relational database detailing karyotypes and natural histories of individual members with rare chromosome abnormalities, including many parents who are carriers of balanced chromosomal rearrangements and many for whom genetic testing of the highest quality is paramount. Although individually extremely rare, if not unique, collectively the number of chromosome abnormalities registered with Unique at present exceeds 5500 (see our website at www.rarechromo.org) and our family membership exceeds 5000 in 68 countries.
