Instrument for internal assessment of the quality of genetic counselling within a genetic counselling clinic

We invite all genetics clinics in Europe and elsewhere to use this instrument for self assessment of their work. Our recommendation is that the clinic staff does the evaluation together, documents the outcome and repeats the exercise for instance once a year to monitor the progress. Report on survey: Counselling and information related to genetic testing according to a survey among European clinicians

The aim of the survey presented here was to collect and analyse information on how genetic counselling is performed in reality in different parts of Europe. In particular, we wished to obtain an insight into the extent and quality of pre-test genetic counselling and informing of patients. This will help us in creating tools for the quality assessment of genetic counselling. In the survey, we approached health care professionals at the moment when they received a DNA test result. ESHG launches new website

The newly designed EHSG website has been launched. Besides a new look, the website has been restructured to provide a better service to its members and a more intuitive navigation through the multitude of documents and information. Several new interactive elements were added. A search function, a login on the front page, a discussion forum, online forms to submit conferences to the conference calendar, job offers and requests.
