About EuroGentest and Unit 5

EuroGentest is a European Network of Excellence (NoE) aiming at harmonizing genetic testing services throughout Europe. By involving leading experts from Europe, EuroGentest will develop the necessary infrastructure, tools, resources, guidelines and procedures that will structure, harmonize and improve the overall quality of all EU genetic services.

The EuroGentest project has been carefully constructed to ensure the above objectives are achieved. There are six units within the EuroGentest network. Each unit is subdivided into work groups and their respective work packages and objectives. One important key objective is to bridge the gap observed in the chain of new technology transfer from research into full application in genetic diagnostics.

Unit 5 is specifically involved with the coordination and integration of all activities required for complete technical evaluation, validation and subsequent implementation of new technologies into clinical practice.
